UI Management
Use Hammer's Content tab to view, manage, and organize all your content entries across collections.
Content Tab
The Content tab provides a centralized interface for managing all your content entries and content planning campaigns.
Location
Access the Content tab from the Site Detail View. It's located alongside other site management tabs.
Unified View with Segmented Control
The Content tab features a segmented control that lets you switch between two modes:
- Content Mode: Manage published content entries across collections
- Planning Mode: Manage content planning campaigns (requires Content Plan Mode to be enabled)
This unified view makes it easy to move between content management and content planning workflows.
Content Mode Features
When in Content mode, the Content tab allows you to:
- View all content entries across collections
- Filter by collection or publishing status
- Search content
- Manage publishing status
- Open content files in external editor
- View page readiness audits
Planning Mode Features
When in Planning mode (Content Plan Mode must be enabled), the Content tab allows you to:
- View all content planning campaigns
- Create new campaigns
- Edit campaign details
- Delete campaigns
- Navigate to campaign detail views

Content Entry Management
Each content entry in the Content tab displays key information and provides management options:
Entry Information
For each content entry, you can see:
- Title: The content's title from front matter
- Collection: Which collection the content belongs to
- File Path: Location of the content file
- Status: Publishing status (Published/Draft/Scheduled)
Status Management
Click the status badge to change publishing status:
- Switch between Published, Draft, and Scheduled
- Changes are immediately saved to the content file's front matter
- Status updates are reflected in the UI immediately
Scheduling
To schedule content:
- Click the calendar icon or status badge
- Select "Scheduled" from the options
- Use the date picker to set the scheduled date and time
- The
scheduledDateis saved to front matter
Opening Files
Click the arrow icon to open the content file in your default external editor. This allows you to:
- Edit content directly in your preferred editor
- Make changes to front matter
- Update content body
Page Audit
Click the check mark icon to view page readiness audit. This shows:
- Missing required fields
- Validation warnings
- Template issues
- Other potential problems
Status Indicators
Content entries display status badges with clear visual indicators:
Published
Green badge with checkmark icon. Indicates content is:
- Included in builds
- Visible on the site
- Available in collection loops
Draft
Orange badge with pause icon. Indicates content is:
- Excluded from builds
- Not visible on the site
- Work-in-progress
Scheduled
Blue badge with calendar icon. Indicates content is:
- Scheduled for future publication
- Will auto-publish when date passes
- Currently excluded if date hasn't passed
Filtering & Search
The Content tab provides powerful filtering and search capabilities:
Collection Filter
Filter content by specific collection:
- Select a collection from the filter dropdown
- View only content from that collection
- Useful for managing large sites with multiple collections
Status Filter
Filter by publishing status:
- All: Show all content regardless of status
- Published: Show only published content
- Draft: Show only draft content
- Scheduled: Show only scheduled content
Search
Search content by:
- Title
- File path
- Collection name
Search results update in real-time as you type.
Sorting
Sort content by:
- Title: Alphabetically (A-Z or Z-A)
- Date: Chronologically (oldest or newest first)
Empty States
The Content tab provides helpful guidance when content mode isn't set up or no content exists:
Content Mode Not Enabled
If Content Mode is not enabled, you'll see a prompt to:
- Enable Content Mode in site settings
- Navigate to Build Settings
- Turn on the "Enable Content Mode" toggle
No Configuration
If content.config.json doesn't exist or is empty, you'll be prompted to:
- Create the configuration file
- Define your first collection
- Set up your content structure
No Content
If no content files exist, you'll see guidance to:
- Add content files to collection directories
- Create your first content entry
- Start building your content-driven site
